The design concept, Imperfection of the Moon: Waxes and Wanes, has struck a chord.

Industry, government, universities, and medicine join hands to create a hearing-friendly future.

PSA Charitable Foundation has been caring for the public’s hearing health for a long time. The Foundation is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2022 and invites the professionals from industry, government, universities, and medicine to join in the grand event. New generation of designers have brought fresh vigor and vitality to the 20th anniversary celebration. Student designers from National Taipei University of Technology release the Hearing Decoration series, a fashionable and practical design of hearing aids, for the first time. The series perfectly demonstrates the designers’ creativity and sense of fashion. Using sunflowers, sunshine, and guardian angel from Western culture to symbolize warmth and courage, the designers are inspired to combine the hearing aids with necklace design in hopes to transform a medical equipment to a fashionable accessory. The author of the Foundation’s theme song 60% Full and a musical prodigy, Hsu Shu Hao, has made a surprise appearance on the catwalk for the Hearing Decoration series to demonstrate the design concept—Imperfection of the Moon: Waxes and Wanes. Hsu states, “The design is simple and elegant. The quiet moon reflects the state of the heart and increases the wearer’s confidence in life. I have the honor to collaborate with the PSA Charitable Foundation for the past two years and it is my hope to evoke people’s attention to hearing care through music.” The hearing aids designs of NTUT students will be made public on PSA Facebook Fanpage. All are invited to vote for the best hearing aids design of your choice and join PSA Charitable Foundation to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

There is also a sitcom performance at the press conference. The dancers interpret a scene where hearing loss caused by environmental noises is restored through the assistance of hearing aids. The attendants of the press conference are invited to hear sounds through hearing aids in hopes of increasing their empathy and generating understanding and acceptance of the importance of hearing aids to the hearing impaired.
