Taoyuan City Hearing Aid Bank was launched in 2021 and had set up the first comprehensive community care integrated hearing health service model in the country. The bank established a network with community resources integration centers of Taoyuan District Health Center and regional teaching hospitals to provide diversified resources and one-stop service for the elders. By holding lectures and hearing screenings at community locations in Taoyuan City, PSA gradually builds up people’s knowledge of ear protection and hearing health, increases the awareness of potential hearing loss, and provides referral channels for the public. In 2024, Community Ear Protection Program was introduced in Taoyuan. From ear protection promoter training to community ear protection dissemination and in-residence professional hearing service, the Foundation is committed to the cultivation of promoters in Taoyuan. It recruits local audiologists to conduct professional consultation, provides follow-up service at the hearing aid bank, and expands the service scope of community care locations in order to let more elders and caregivers in Taoyuan understand the importance of ear protection.
